Yes really! There are just five steps to a positive mindset, and you may be surprised at just how quickly you can completely re-shape your thinking and start achieving more than you ever thought possible.

Now, before you start to tell me “This won’t work for me, I’m no good at anything, I don’t have any special talents or abilities, It won’t matter how positive I am I will never achieve anything.” I have to tell you that you are right. You and millions of similar people will never achieve anything. You are condemned to a life drudgery, mediocrity and non-achievement. Why? Because you have a negative outlook on life. So, why not join the tens of millions more who leading happy fulfilled lives and achieving their dreams simply because they have a positive mindset. Attitude is more important than aptitude. Yes, in many circumstances you may need skills and abilities, but they can be learned, practiced, and improved. However, if you don’t have the right positive mindset, you will probably never even try to learn new skills or more likely, give up at the first hurdle.

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t – you’re right,” Henry Ford

Here are the five steps that will change your negative attitude to a Positive Mindset.

Step 1. Take charge of your thoughts.

Thousands of thoughts pass through our minds every day. Start each day with the intention of only thinking positive thoughts. Every time a negative thought crosses your mind, or you are thinking negative thoughts about a current situation recognise them for what they are and replace them with positive thoughts. Find something good about a situation, sometimes it is difficult to do this but with practice it will get easier. One good technique is to use the phrase “At Least”

“At least it didn’t kill me”. “At least I only got soaked”.

Another way is to use the word “But” That car nearly ran into me, but it made me decide to be more careful when out walking”.

Eventually it will become a habit and you can start each day by thinking about the good things in your life negative thoughts will intrude less and less.

Step 2. Give yourself a daily dose of inspirational material.

There is a huge resource of Inspirational literature you can choose from. Life stories of people who have succeeded against all the Odds or found ways to change their lives for the better. Motivational lectures and presentations, motivational and inspirational quotes on social media. Over time these things start to change your mindset to a more positive one.

Step 3. Focus on other people.

Make a conscious effort to be kind and helpful to others. You don’t need to make a big thing of it. A friendly smile, a cheerful “Good morning” Help someone lift their shopping into their car. You will start to feel good about yourself which will lead you into a positive spiral, the better you feel the more helpful and friendly you will become. This is the true secret of Karma.

Step 4. Look after your health.

It is hard to be positive when you have aches and pains, are hungry, have indigestion, or are cold and tired.

Eat healthy foods, take regular exercise, get plenty of sleep, and if you have medical issues get them attended to sooner rather than later.

Step 5. Learn contentment.

For the next 21 days focus on what you have and not on what you don’t have. Live in the present and enjoy your blessings.

Try to forget acquiring stuff for the purpose of keeping up with others. That only leads to more anxiety. Be thankful for what you do have instead.

When going through difficult experiences – remember that adversity can be a blessing in disguise. You might learn some important lessons during those tough times – like many successful people did.

These lessons can turn into credentials that will enable you to help others when they’re going through tough times.

So, don’t let negativity ruin your present and future. Instead, build a new habit of having a positive attitude. Keep up the effort, it can take about 21 days to start seeing consistent changes in the way you think, but it will be worth it!

Now choose the starting date for your attitude-renewal adventure and go for it!
